Premiere Sync problem
I’m a FCPX editor but a friend who uses Premiere ( 5 or 6 I think ) has asked for advice with a problem.
“It won’t let me press delete to close any gaps in the timeline without shifting a whole load of following clips out of sync that then appear with red minus numbers on them.”
Anyone have any idea of what might cause this problem – it does’t seem that serious to me – maybe the wrong trim setting ?

Sounds like they turned sync lock off one of their audio tracks. When off, ripple edits, etc. do not affect the track.

It’s the little “tournament tier” looking icon on each track. This is from the newest version so it may look slightly different, but they’re in each track header.
