This is mainly a question of work flow from PP CS6 (soon to get CC) to DaVinci and back.
I’ve read everything I can find online, and am still having issues.

The obvious way is XML. I use this to open old FCP7 projects in PP and it generally works great.
The main downfall going to DaVinci is different video types and clips from huge files (4sec clips from 3h 250GB files).
The footage is mainly DVCPro HD, 7D 1080/720p, and other ProRes forms at 1080i/60 or 30.

I can export the XML great, but when I bring it in some of it doesn’t deinterlace properly (will try and post screens tomorrow). The other issue I am now seeing is that some clips won’t come in because “timecode extents don’t match”, and nothing I’ve read doesn’t help.

I tried render the whole sequence (about 3.5 minutes) to prores, bring into AE, split up edits with Magnum The Edit Detector (great script), bring that into PP and export as XML. Unfortunately, Davinci sees that as 1 single clip.
So I thought rendering each clip on my PP sequence and replacing it in PP would be great, but no easy workflow there.

    tl;dr

Need good workflow from PP to Davinci Resolve (and back I guess)

Export an EDL of your timeline and use that as a cut list with the ProRes file in Resolve. It’ll do what you’re trying to achieve with your ProRes + XML method.
