Premiere Pro Productions – is it really more ‘effiicent’
Let’s say you have two editors working off shared storage using similar footage but not all of it is shared. Right now we are taking this approach in a non-productions workflow and things appear to be working fine. Each of the editors stores all of their project files and cache files as well as local assets, locally. In doing some reading on ‘Productions’ there is some loose verbiage about performance optimizations in shared storage environments. I am aware of the workflow differences and how to use productions however I need to understand: are there under-the-hood improvements for working off shared storage in a ‘Productions’ environment or is it more of a workflow approach – a la Avid?
