Hello guys! Im have a 6 years expirience of editing in Premiere Pro. All my video/filmmaking life based on Premiere Pro. But now ive buyed a Sony A7IV and i think i cant grade colors in Premiere Pro so good like in Davinci. Which editing program is best for you, and is it possible to achieve good color grading without using Davinci? I saw this interface and its so… difficult.

P.S. Apologizing for my bad English, I’m living in Ukraine and only learning English.

I’ve used mainly Premiere Pro and its earlier versions for over 20 years, and DaVinci Resolve for about a year. Once I got comfortable with Resolve, the editing was easy enough, and less buggy then each new release of Premiere, and it’s nice not to have to pay Adobe monthly. So, my advice would be Resolve over Premiere.

Only thing that keeps me on Premiere is that I know it reflexively, and have invested in some plugins that I don’t want to buy again.

    Hey Max,

As Davinchi starts from free, I would suggest that you take it for a spin.

There are pros and cons with both Creative Cloud and Davinchi.
But if cinematography is the main goal, then you get a more complete set of tools for colour correction in Davinchi.
The down-side is, that you might not get the video codecs that you want to use in your pipe-line.

Also, to really get into using it, head over and do a LinkedIN course. Or Packt, ending today 29th Feb 2024, is running a disount on books, including:
Video Editing Made Easy with DaVinci Resolve 18″ by Lance Philips:

If you don’t buy it today, do subscribe to Packt newsletters. Because ever so often you can buy bundles of different books and videos from $10 down to $5 if you buy more than one book.
