The 2015.3 update has essentially killed my MacPro for anything but short HD projects, so I’m finally facing my return to a Windows OS.

I’m interested in others experiences running PPro and AE under Windows:

    1. Did the latest update create major performance problems for Windows users?

    2. How stable have the releases been under Windows? I expect some bugs/crashes with plug-ins, but how stable was the basic application? Frequent system crashes? Frequent app crashes?

    3. How does PPro handle mixed OS handoff? My laptop will be a Mac for the forseeable future….and I imagine I’ll want to share projects between the two. Is it feasible to go back and forth between OS versions of PPro (beyond the inevitable font war)?

Thanks for any input. I feel like the switch to Windows is just a matter of time/money for me, but I’m interested in what the trade-offs will be.

[Chris Walsh] “1. Did the latest update create major performance problems for Windows users?”

    No.

[Chris Walsh] “2. How stable have the releases been under Windows? “

Very, but your mileage might vary depending on possible hardware problems.

[Chris Walsh] “3. How does PPro handle mixed OS handoff?”

Pretty good. You’ll probably need to relink media because of the difference in the filepaths.
