Premiere Pro Not Responding
Hello,
I’ve been running into some issues as of late on some Premiere Pro Project Files.
I’ve had several large projects that I’m working on and it seems that after a while, the project gets a bug or something and has trouble opening. I’ve been working on an episode for an outdoor television show and have been working on it for several weeks. I have roughly 10-12 sequences and have edited about 20 minutes worth of material.
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve worked on this project and now when I open it, Premiere Pro says (Not Responding) and I can’t seem to do anything in this project anymore. This happened a few months back to another project that was similar in size.
Why does this keep happening on these large projects? Is there something I should be doing in the future to prevent these large projects from crashing?

What type and how big is your media array? Sounds like too small of a media array or too slow of a connection.

I guess I’m not sure what you mean by “Media Array”. I was editing on a custom built PC when the firt project file had this happen a few months back. Since then, I’ve had the same guy build me another fantastic machine and I’m running CS5.
The most recent project file is 518,548 KB and there is roughly 230GB of footage for the project.

I’ve still been having issues with project file sizes bloating. Over the past two weeks, the temporary fix has been to create a new project file, and import the old project with all the sequences, but the new project seems to bloat just as quickly. I’m getting quite frustrated.
Anything?
