Premiere Pro & Multibridge Pro Problems
Hello everyone,
I am a NEWBIE with this Multibridge, and relatively new to the world of HD. I am going to be asking some very dumb questions, but here goes.
I use a Sony PMW-EX1, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and I recently got the Multibridge Pro as a way to edit HD since Premiere Pro edit XDCAM files natively.
I successfully installed the Multibridge Pro to my system, and the computer is recognizing it fine.
Here are my system specs.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
2.22 GHz, 3.25 GB of RAM
Nvidia Quadro FX1400 video card
Adobe Production Suite PremiumI DO NOT PLAN ON EDITING UNCOMPRESSED HD. I know my system can’t handle it.
Now, I can successfully capture SD from my EX1 into a Premiere Pro DeckLink SD SDI Project using the SDI output on the EX1. The camera SDI has to be ‘set’ to output SD.
The problem comes when I try to capture HD (720 60p XDCAM) footage from the EX1. I set the EX1 to output SDI-HD. I open a Premiere Pro Decklink HD 720 60p Motion Jpeg project. This time, however, I get no signal from the EX1 in the capture window. I even played the footage from the EX1 and captured the black screen (because in the past when capturing HDV the capture window goes black). Playing back the captured footage in a timeline reviels nothing but black.
Why am I able to capture SDI-SD from the EX1 using the Multibridge, and not SDI-HD from the EX1 using the Multibridge? What am I missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please talk in semi-moron terms, as I am not a techie. I am like the guy who can drive the NASCAR but doesn’t care what’s under the hood. I know enough to get by, but I am not nearly as knowledgable as most of the people here.
