I’m having a problem with effects generated in Premiere Pro.

Effects like Drop Shadow and Change to Color seem to be immune to my adjustment layer which is armed with Lumetri Color set to reel in the whites and blacks.

It’s crazy but the whites and blacks totally ignore any attempt to dial them down.

I’ve since given in and dialed down the colors on the actual effects one by one. This works for the Change to Color effect. The whites are now legal.

But the Drop Shadow effect is being more stubborn. I have to turn the color of the shadow to a pastey gray before the Waveform Monitor says it’s okay.

Does anyone know what’s going on here?

I guess it’s possible that Lumetri is being applied in the pipeline before the effect despite being layered above. Have you tried putting a Video Limiter Effect on instead?
