    Premiere Pro disk setup

    Hello everybody!

    I’ve to ask a very common question, how to distribute Premiere Pro components between my disks, this is my situation:

    1. RAID0 (2 SSD’d, approx. 1000MB/s read and write) 256GB
    2. SSD (approx. 500MB/s readn and write)256GB
    3. HDD (7200RPM, 120MB/s read, 20MB/s write) 1TB
    I have an opportunity to add another HDD and “RAID” it with 1TB HDD but i’m not sure if it’s good idea.

    Any ideas 🙂

    It would only be a bad idea if you don’t want or need 2X the throughput and 2X the realtime performance over a single drive. Yes, there is a higher possibility of drive failure in any RAID, but if you don’t backup everything you’re cruising for a bruising whether you have a single drive or even RAID5 or RAID6 protection.
