Premiere Pro CS6 Mac – Problem importing Canon c300 footage
Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has been covered in another post – but I couldn’t find any response.I’m having trouble importing C300 footage into premiere pro cs6. I have done this in the past without issue (though think this may have been when on cs5.5).
My process is to go through media browser, find the folder, then just import from there – but all I get is audio and no pictures. I can see the footage is there in VLC media player but it wont import into PPcs6
Any ideas?

Maybe your CS6 does not have all the featured installed.

To bring your Canon C300 footage into Premiere Pro, you don’t need any special software. Premiere supports a huge range of formats without any plugins. To start, launch Premiere and make a new project. Select from the Canon XF MPEG2 drop down menu, and choose the format in which you shot. I shot in 1080 24p. Click ‘OK,’ and Premiere will open up. To import clips visit the “Media Browser” window, which is normally found in the lower left corner of Premiere. Choose the folder with your C300 footage into it and Media Browser will allow you to view your clips. But for your issues you are facing, a better workaround is to converting MXF file to MPEG-2 for Adobe Premiere Pro editing. That’s preparation I always do before handling my MXF footage as I know it’s not an edit-friendly format for most NLEs.
