  • Premiere Pro CS4 crashes when I import Flip .mp4 files.

Posted by Griff Montgomery on October 6, 2011 at 5:15 pm

I’m using Premiere Pro CS4 to edit a wedding video I made. I shot most of the wedding on my Handycam, which works fine with Premiere Pro. I used a Flip HD camera to shoot a little bit of the ceremony (an alternate camera) and as a backup when my Handycam’s battery died during the reception.

I have a large 20 minute file from the Flip (.mp4) that I need to import, and about 15 1 minute files that need to be converted.

ANYWAY, Premiere Pro crashes every time I try to import the files, and I have tried to convert them, but nothing has worked. Premiere still crashes!

Could someone help me!? I need to get this done!

I have the same problem – it’s a 1.07G 25 min mp4 flip video and I’m using Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. It will freeze & “not respond” when trying to import this file, I’m guessing it’s too large of a file…but this is the first time this has happened to me (been using Flip & Premiere for the past couple of years). Any advice??
