You are not the only one to have this issue. There is definitely some kind of bug on the export….I’m not sure if it’s Decklink or CS3.

I was using the CS3 serial control through the Decklink com port. Which tape export are you using?

What I did find, was that if I turned off autosave….it worked fine!

    Anybody else got any clues?

    Cheers

    Thanks Kristian

I did some further tests, and it did seem to drop out here and there, with no rhyme or reason.

    Cheers

    Hi Brett,

We just did a couple of exports here (about 15 minutes in length) and it was fine. We probably need more information from you about your setup. You can post them here or send the to us via support[at]blackmagic-design.com

    Hello again.

I am using simply File/Export/To Tape option in Assemble mode and 3 sexc preroll.

The recorder prerolls all fine ands starts exporting to tape, but as i said in approximetely 7th miniute it stops. The only thing i didn’t do is i didn’t turn off the auto save. I’ll test it with disabled auto save and will post here my results.

I have reported elsewhere in these forums that autosave in CS3 when exporting to tape will drop out the process. From my tests it doesn’t have the same problem when using the Premiere’s Serial control, which really is ProVTR in disguise. Just as a matter of interest Adobe finally listened to my complaints with their ‘Serial control’ and seemed to have fixed it; maybe they forgot to tell BMD of the changes to their plug in structure!

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

    Just to isolate any issues.

    Intel Core2Duo
    2 Gig Ram
    Win XPpro
    1TB Raid 5
    Adobe Master Suite CS3

I’m using Export to Tape with the Adobe serial control into a PANASONIC DVC-PRO deck with R2422 Deck control. I had issues getting the Blackmagic serial control to talk properly with the Panasonic Deck. We have always used the Adobe version in the past.

I triad another export on Friday, and it made it to 33min before stopping.???? Luckily we are in a break for our show, so we are not dubbing daily, but it’s an issue we need to sort.

    Thanks

    Brett

    Hey. Here are my results.

I turned off auto save and etarted to export to tape 45 min long project. Everything worked fine until 30 min came – premiere suddenly freezed and export to tape stopped.

Did anyone find a resolution to this issue? I have to to make 90 minute masters and it’s really a bummer to have to stripe the entire tape first and then go back and build the master in 15 minute blocks to lay this back.

I’ve tried using both the Adobe and the BMD controls. I’ve disabled autosave and it keeps aborting randomly, first at 7 minutes and then at 17 minutes of record time. No error message just stops.

Never had any problems like this in 1.5 and 2.0.

    Thanks,

    Hello.
Yes it would be good to find a solution to this problem.
Very frustrating having the export to tape stopping randomly like this.
