  • Premiere Pro Clip Slipping? Basic tips required!

    Amateur question I know!
I’m used to final cut pro, it made space automatically when dragging clips to the timeline. But when I drag and drop media to the timeline on Premiere it cuts into chunks of clips either side. Any advice for how not have this problem?

Tero has a great resource that you should definitely read, but I’ll give you the quick version.

    Hold ctrl while dragging
    or
press the insert button at the bottom of the source window
    or
press the insert keyboard shortcut (default ‘,’)

Pressing the insert button or keyboard shortcut will insert the clip at your playhead in the timeline, moving/splitting any clips in tracks you have the toggle sync turned on for.

Thanks very much! Do you know where I could find the Tero resource?
