Premiere Pro CC 2014 source and program monitor fail to refresh
So I have this issue that doesn’t appear to have any sort of pattern with pp cc 2014.
My computer is a mbp retina 15″ (early 2013) 2.7 ghz, 16 gb ram and is operating on os x mavericks latest update. The clips I’m working with are almost always h.264 files from dslrs. I’m operating with a usb 3.0 LaCie drive. Though I do most of my work from thunderbolt LaCie drives.
Sometimes when applying adjustment layers or effects to clips within my sequence it gets to a point where both the program and source monitors will stop refreshing. The program monitor now shows just a black screen and the source monitor gets stuck on a single frame and will not change when selecting different clips to view. I’ve tried everything from preferences options to trying to close and reopen the windows. If I try and view a different window say video scopes that responds fine. Trying to switch back to composite video though only ends up with the same black screen. If I try and export a frame even though the program monitor is black I still am able to export the actual frame from the clip in the sequence. If I quit and restart pp both monitors start working again and it may be that they don’t act up for the rest of the project. There isn’t any consistency for when they will derp out. This has never happened to me in pp cs6 or cc.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Though I can just restart the program and it starts working again was wondering if someone else might have a workaround from having to restart pp.
