Here’s a good one. Anyone else out there ever have to deal with this?

Whenever I have both Resolve and Premiere open, I lose control of playback in Premiere.

With Resolve open the following happens: Clicking the play button on the program monitor will start playing the video, but then all transport buttons stop working and the playback head does not move. The only way I can stop playback is to manually click on the playback head in the timeline. Also, clicking the play button on the source monitor does not work at all. As soon as I close Resolve, all functionality in Premiere returns.

    What the heck?
Anyone else seen this. Is there a workaround?

    Thanks!

I don’t know if this is the answer to your issue, but if you have a playback card that both apps are trying to use, it will disable playback in Premiere.

If this is the case, just try disabling the card from the Premiere Preferences/Playback pane.

Thanks for the response, but that was the first thing I tried. As I said in my original post, Premiere will allow me to drop the video output when it’s in the background, thus freeing up my Ultrastudio Mini Monitor for use in Resolve. My problem comes when going the other direction. Resolve grabs the card and won’t let go, so I lose playback in Premiere.

That said, it appears I have found a workaround. Simply close and reboot Premiere. This tact is working so far, so fingers crossed.

    Thanks.
