Hi, im having an issues with premiere pro CS5.5 on a PC (windows 7). When exporting a quicktime h.246 with a 23.967 frame rate the audio on the exported file is marginally, maybe a coulpe of frames, out of sync. I’ve been using the Vimeo and Youtube presets and adjusting the frame rate to 23.976fps. Other formats i’ve tried like uncompressed AVI and WMV are fine with no sink issues. I’ve read some similar posts on here but haven’t found any answers, any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

Are you watching the video in Quicktime? This is an infamous known problem with the Quicktime player and it has been for years.

Yes i’m playing in quicktime but my main problem is i’m uploading to vimeo and the audio is still out. Do you know of any fix’s, does rendering on a mac change anything? Maybe i just have to figure out exactly how many frames the audio is out and offset it in Premiere, but this seems like a crazy way to fix the problem!

    Cheers for the reply

What are the sequence settings? Dimensions/fps

What are the clip settings? Dimensions/fps

What are the assets music/audio settings? Khz

What are the export Dimensions/fps/audio Khz settings?

    Sequence settings: 1920×1080, 23.976fps, 48000 Hz Stereo

All clip settings are the same

    Export Settings: 1280×720, 23.976fps, 48000 Hz Stereo

Everything is matched except for the frame size, I’m fairly sure it has something to do with the final QT H.246 file, but why I just don’t know. Quite frustrating.

    Cheers

First I would make sure it plays in-sync by using VLC player, or re-importing your file and popping it in a timeline in Premiere.

If everything looks a-ok after that, flash does have a legacy issue playing back 48kHz audio and some people still report noticing sync issues. If you know your video is destined for the web, especially a flash player like vimeo or youtube, play it safe and export your audio at 44.1kHz.

For the practical purpose of a deliverable file, there is no audible difference in 44.1kHz and 48kHz.
