Premiere Pro 2014 Losing Linked Media
Since I’ve updated to PPCC 2014, my media clips have been randomly losing their link. Even a text template from After Effects is doing this. I have to choose “Link Media” and relocate the file. I save, close the project and either the same files I have just relinked or different files are now missing and I have to relink again.
Thoughts?

I have had the same issue. It bites….HEAVILY! The dynamic linking framework is hobbled….

We’re actually getting the same issue but just on CC, not CC 2014. Re-start a project and get “Media Pending” on random clips for no apparent reason.

One thing for very sure, that awful, bug-laden plug-in Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks keeps getting worse with each new “update” and it causes the exact problem described here. DELETE!

Interesting about Magic Bullet Looks. I had no idea there were issues like this with it. I do in fact have it installed. Does everyone else here having the same issue have Looks installed as well?

Well, I’d had other issues caused by MB Looks, enough so that I’ve uninstalled it, but now hat you’ve brought this up, I was actually having your issue as well, and it’s stopped since uninstalling MB Looks. I thought that the dynamic linking issue had just ‘self-resolved’.

As such it certainly saddens me to think that people are struggling with the mystery of this issue (to the extent it applies) when removal of Magic Bullet Looks would make the problem disappear for most. I still find it amazing that Red Giant has let this go for so long.

I did a complete wipe and reinstall of my entire system and did NOT install the red giant product, still having intermittent linking issues.
