Premiere Pro 2 and decklink?
Hey everyone, this place is VERY handy to us semi-pros!
Our studio has a middle of the road edit machine:
P4
3.4Ghz
2 gig RAM
2 X 120 Gig sata HDD
ATI 256 Graphics cardMy question is related to the new Premiere Pro 2 suite and the best video/capture we should buy?
We have had the matrox RTX 100 extreme pro, but have had ALOT of issues with PP1.5. We now read that the new 2.0 suite isnt compatible with this card.
Can someone give us some good info on a suitable black magic card?
We produce mainly educational video resources working in DV only at this stage.

I have just done a few tests with Blackmagic DV codec on Premiere Pro 2 (PAL), with Decklink SP 5.6.
The codec itself works fine, except for a few issues that may not be Blackmagic related.Video crossfades work in real time, but anything in movement, like crawls or PIP has fields reversed. They have to be rendered for smooth playback.
Another issue that I have is for sure Premiere related: I can control my DV camera over FW but there is no video video input. I had to use Movie Maker to capture video. There is a solution for this problem that some have and others might not have, but I did not look closer into this as I don’t work much with DV. Premiere 1.5 has not seen this issues I beleive.
One big advantage using Blackmagic DV codec is that I can monitor video using component out from Decklink instead of using a DV converter, and another big plus, the video on the monitor and on the computer screen are always synchronized.
