March 23, 2012 at 5:59 amDownload trial versions of Premiere Elements or PP CS5.5.2 or Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 and see what happens, if any do not work it must be the computer ?? This will not cost anything or try https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_current

March 23, 2012 at 11:09 amThis is a brand new computer, running fully bought and paid for software. It functions absolutely brilliantly other tha than not having application sound in these two specific Adobe programs. EVERYTHING else works fine.
I strongly urge you to reread my original message fully.
Especially where I say >b?”I will appreciate any ideas. But please do not confuse me with someone who has money to buy new software. Nor with someone who will believe this cannot work as I have seen it work. Serious minded help from experienced users Please!
“I do appreciate the input but I am concentrating on the problem at hand and those who run XPMode successfully with Adobe video Applications will be the ones who know the most valuable means and methods.
I made some headway into understanding program files placement within the VM.
Very much, this is a matter of understanding and being able to navigate the highly interfolded file tree to even begin. I am determined this can be solved without panic mode approaches,

March 24, 2012 at 6:13 amCheck with your tech support , I have Dell here, and it would take seconds for them and your tech support for “a brand new computer” to work this out for you

March 24, 2012 at 12:08 pmOperating system software is not servicable by the hardware manufacturer beyond their OEM system install.
As I said this is a Win7 Professional (upgrade) with Virtual PC and XPMode.
It is not clear to me if I have any free online help or not. And just finding a phone number or chat window on the multitude iof MS site is a puzzler as well.

March 24, 2012 at 8:51 pmUnderstand, but, have you tried trial of newer Premiere Pro or Vegas?
PP 1.5.1 does work here on .>

March 24, 2012 at 10:49 pmYes. 64 bit. But Virtual PC/ XPMode runs it as 32bit just like 99% of the other programs everyone has that are not specifically 64 bit are run by Win 7.
And trying demo ware that I do not intend to buy will nevewr help me fix my problem and only serve to divert me..

March 26, 2012 at 12:44 amThe suggestion was only for elimination of your issue with Premiere Pro 1.5, are you using it for SD or HDV. And if HDV, did you upgrade to 1.5.1, and as I say Premiere Pro 1.5.1 runs perfectly well here in a computer nearly identical to yours.
Even though your technical support maybe only for hardware, a good tech should easily solve your audio issue if you just ask them , because ADOBE WILL NOT SUPPORT YOU ON A 7 YEAR OLD VERSION, unfortunately.Check Audio Output Device:https://images.creativecow.net/157057/adobepremierepro1.5.1.jpg
Highlight this link and it will open, maybe right click >>
Or better still click on image UPLOAD camera icon under message, you will find a screen dump showing the audio set up , ignore image stabilization iconIt should be Adobe Default Windows Sound 1.5

Good luck.
This shows a Premiere Pro 1.5.1 Project with full audio using an HDV 1920 x 1080 i clip from a Canon HV 20 on a i7 Professional 64 bit Quad Core using a Nvida Quadro FX 3800 video and audio card with XP Windows mode in VP, the Project is recognised as PP running in an XP multi processor

March 27, 2012 at 6:57 pmI could not find the settings panel to reset the Premiere Pro 1.5 path to the drivers for sound.
Reinstalling PP 1.5 b did not work either .
Uninstalling Windows 7 XPMode then reinstalling XPMode and then reinstalling PP 1.5 did work
I then allocated more RAM to XPMode and it all works fine so far.
This wastes more time than simply making a settings change for a path to the sound drivers but I guess that is the price one pays for using Windows.

March 27, 2012 at 11:04 pmI am glad you had some success , but, Premiere Pro 1.5.1 is 7 years old and was not meant for ( i7 Windows with Virtual PC in XP Mode), but, it still works very well.
You will strike issues with the newer AVCHD, mpeg-4 and H.264 mov codecs if you ever have to use them and PP will crash.
