Posted by Sameer Shrivastava on April 24, 2005 at 3:38 pm

    hi,
My premiere pro 1.5 crashes when I export to canopus pro coder 2. It crashes as soon as I say convert on pro coder.
    my system
    xp sp2
    xeon 2.8, 512mb ram.
Tried on my old machine p4 1.7ghz.

The same method with premiere 6.5 worked without a hitch.
It also crashes if i do link to avisynth as soon as i load part0.avs file on tmpeg.
    please help

I found this confusing at first, too.

If you are using the frameserver function out of PPro into PC2, then after selecting the PC2 target use the START button on the left side of ProCoder 2 to begin conversion.

    Hi,
There is only convert button there on the left side. Premiere pro reports a serious error occured and crashes as soon as I press that convert button.
    Thanks anyway

Are you using the ProCoder 2 Wizard exporter? Having just tried it (I use the non-wizard alternative every time usually), my system also crashes Premiere using the wizard.

Export works just fine using ProCoder 2 Exporter… , setting the convert parameters manually, and then pressing ‘Start’ as I advised.

You might want to raise this on the ProCoder forum at https://forum.canopus.com/.

I had similiar problems with Pro Coder and so now I export my movies and then encode them from outside the Premier Pro application. This is usually not an extra step for me as I always want a full resolution ‘proof’ for my movies final out.

Yes, exporting as avi and then encoding with canopus pro coder2 works well with me too. no i am not using the wizard. what i usually do is from premiere choose =export- procoder exporter…
which launches the pro coder 2. and after adding target etc. press convert. as soon as i press convert premiere pro reorts a serious error and craqshes. it’s the premiere pro which crashes.
this method worked really well with premiere 6.5
