Premiere-like Timecode Effect in FCP7
How would one create a Premiere-like Timecode Effect that is explained here?
There are a few desirable aspects of this. First, the Format option allows you to select only frames so that you’re not getting the entire SMPTE format, etc. I *must* only display frames.
Further, I need to be able to “lift” the the timecode from a slug so that it is a floating area with an opacity of ZERO (clear) so one only sees the frame count ascending.
I cannot imagine that this cannot be done in FCP, but I don’t know if it does provide the tools out of the box. Is there something available that will facilitate this or is there a way to script this effect? Other suggestions? I really hate this feeling at the moment as I’ve been using FCP for a few years now and I just can’t put my finger on how to do this and it’s a critical thing right now. Hate to add Premiere to my workflow for these projects and there are a number of reasons as to why adding them outside of FCP is very undesirable as well. :\
