  • Premiere distorting my imported MPEG files

Premiere Pro 7.0 on a Windows XP machine.

I have converted a .flv file from YouTube into an MPEG using Riva Converter. The MPEG file plays fine in Windows Media Player with no frame chopping or audio delays. However, when I import the file into Premiere and drag it into the editing field, the video becomes extremely choppy.

What might I do to fix this?

Editing mpeg clips in the timeline is a bad idea. It seems Premiere wasnt able to properly index you mpeg. Best is to convert your flvs to uncompressed AVI first before you use them in premiere. I use either procoder or tmpeg to do this.

    Hope it helps…
