Premiere CS5 and graphics cards
I already understand about the graphics display cards that have been tested by Adobe, but what’s this about needing a Decklink Extreme HD card? Is that absolutely necessary? I thought CS5 handled DSLR HD natively.
Also, do I need to have a Raid set-up as well, or are simple 7200RPM drives ok?

Gday Phil,
Not sure where you heard that a Decklink or any other 3rd Party card is required for editing HDSLR.
I have working with HDSLR on a software only system on a laptop and it works great!

I’d just pile on to echo Jon’s response.
You don’t even need a “Mercury certified” display card to run DSLR, much less a video IO card from any company. You’ll need a little juice in the CPU department, but nothing extraordinary.
The DSLR media I’ve run seems to run pretty well on a variety of platforms with or without an approved CUDA card (though the CUDA is nice for the help with the effects)
