  Premiere CS4 and Soundbooth issue

  My sequence consists of a edited AVI file with audio. The audio is not used. Rather we use a separately recorded mov audio file, synced with the AVI audio.
  This is a 3+ hour mov file, so it is used on 10 different sequences.

  I wanted to clean up some background noise in about a 2 minute chunk of audio, so razored the section in question and clicked “edit in soundbooth – render and replace”. I made my noise removal in Soundbooth, hit save, and returned to Premiere. Premiere immediately started reconforming the original mov file.

  Is this because, even though I did my Soundbooth edit on a razored piece of the original MOV it actually works on the master file?

  So I did undo and tried another approach.
  I first exported a WAV from the portion of the sequence. Reimported the new WAV and lay it on the sequence where it belongs. Then I clicked the wav file and “edit in soundbooth.” Did my noise removal, hit save, returned to Premiere, and same thing, reconform the MOV file, even thought I was not editing the MOV file.

  Any explanation for this?
