Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro Premiere CC 2014 Won’t Launch

    Greetings,

    I downloaded the 2014 updates to my MacPro (2013) this evening, but Premiere Pro refuses to open. I never get the splash screen, and Premiere never appears in the Activity Monitor. Premiere does appear in the Force Quit Applications window, but I’m dead in the water. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

    * Removed all plugins from the Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC folder.
    * Set permissions on the User/Library/Preferences/Adobe folder to read/write for Everyone.
    * Several system restarts.
    * Attempted to remove Premiere CC 2014 using the uninstaller, but I get an erroneous message telling me to close the PhotoshopServer application, even though it isn’t running in the Activity Monitor.

    Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go from here?

    Thanks!

    Rick

    Adobe Cleaner Tool

    Thanks Dennis,

    I ran the Cleaner Tool, and then re-downloaded CC 2014. I was able to launch Premiere this time, but I’m getting a ton of beach balls, and I’ve now experienced several outright crashes. Is anyone else having similar issues that they were able to resolve?

    Same thing here. I’ve run cleaner and re installed but still getting the beach balls. I get an error message saying a “capable” video driver could not be found. This is a brand new MBP retina. I tried turning off graphics switching and checked the read write permissions of the “Adobe” folder in preferences to no avail.
