Premiere Causing Crash on Program Open
I have loaded Premiere Pro 1.5 to my older laptop to do clip sorting and preparation. The computer CPU is an Intel T2400 @ 1.83 GHz with 1 GB of RAM. Windows XP Home Version 5.1.2600 / Service Pack 3.0. According to the System Requirements on the Disc, this should be adequate. Most times when I attempt to load the program it crashes the computer before it finishes loading. (Screen goes to black, must restart). If I keep trying I can eventually get the program to load and operate properly. I’m looking for fix advice that won’t involve buying a new computer. Thanks.

Disable or preferably uninstall and anti virus/spayware apps. Kill all background apps (msconfig). Defrag your hardrive and make sure it has 30% free at least.
