Is there any way to export from Final Cut pro and then open it with Premier Pro 1.5? I’ve tried both the avi and .mov, but both times I get an “unsupported file” or “sunsupported compression in file” error. How can I make the file types compatible!?

    Thanks!

When you export from FCP, make sure you use DV codec. And make sure that you make it a self-contained movie.

Which file types (avi, .mov, etc) have the DV codec available?

Both Quicktime and AVI should over DV codec. The trick is that it has to be a self contained movie. Try using the convert to Quicktime under the export selection – that may help too.
