    HI all,

Anyone know if I can export video in MP4 format so that it is ready to go on the IPOD?

    Alex

Also, if you had unlimited funds to make Preniere run as fast as possible, what would you buy?
I have dual proc. Dell with Canopus Storm 2 , I feel I could be doing a lot better in terms of render times, and overall math chunking/exporting/rendering any thoughts?

QT Pro costs 29.95…that’s how I’m going to MP4. It’s not fast, but it sure is clean.

I’d go with a dual Opteron…I suppose ideal conditions would be a dual processor/dual core Opteron system. That would be the fastest as of today I think…

    Hi Tim,

Thanks, thats what I’m doing (along with trying a few other tools, like IMToo which is really fast! and not many visible hits on the vid. quality….I wonder how they do that?) Anyhow I was hoping to bypass the export QT step in Prem. Pro and go striaght to IPOD – anyone else know if new Prem Pro 2 will do this?

    Alex

oh and thanks for dream machine suggestion, I was also wondering if an AJA or other proc/board would speed up Premier.

    – sorry lots of q’s in there!

If money is no object, I use Matrox Axio with PPro 2.0 and it speeds things up tremendously. Haven’t tackled MPEG4 outputs yet but outputting a 42 minute Sequence to MPEG2 for DVD renders out in about 18 minutes with Axio on my Dual Core HPxw9300.

I have already started shopping for my dual processor dual core system. It looks like I can do it for under $6K and get what I really want. First things first. I have two books to edit and one to rewrite. After that, the money will be there to get my new toys.

But my wife surprised me the other day. I showed her the pictures of the Sony HC1 as I was reviewing the HandsOnHDV DVD, and she wanted to know why I had not bought one yet. As I picked my jaw up off of the floor, I decided it was time to shop for a new PC instead.
