Sorry, I know this is a Premier Pro form but given there is no Prelude Forum I figured this is the best place to post this.

I have a somewhat large project I’m trying to preview using Prelude CS6 (1.0.3). My ingest bin is 188 .mov files that are approx 1Gb each. These are scanned movie files from numerous 8mm home movies that were converted. I need to review all of these and tag each one with the respective people that are in each movie. Prelude would be perfect for doing this however I cannot keep it stable for more than about 5-7 reviews and then it locks up, crashes and burns. This is more than a little frustrating. My machine should be more than capable of handling this. I have a i7 X980 3.3Ghz CPU with 24Gb of ram running on a ASUS mb with a 512Gb SSD. I’ve set the available memory for Prelude to be 18Gb. The project cache is on and the cache file is on the system SSD drive. The data files that are references are on an internal 6Tb RAID 10 drive (Hardware RAID controller, not windows software RAID). My graphics card is a Quadro FX3800 with 1Gb of video memory.

With this much footage to review and tag I would really like to continue to use Prelude but the crashing has brought me to a virtual standstill.

I have tried moving the cache to my data drive but there does not seem to be any difference. I was thinking of just doing an uninstall on Prelude if that is possible and reinstall. I hate to uninstall my whole CS6 installation as it is a major PITA to reinstall all of my plugins, etc. I would like to avoid doing that at all possible cost.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. I’ve posted a similar post on the Adobe Prelude forum but I’ve received no replies. I thought perhaps that I might have a better chance here on the COW.
