This is basically a workflow question, I’m just curious if there’s a better way to do this:

When precomping one or more layers (with Ctrl+Shift+C), the newly generated precomp always spans the full comp timeline even if the layers themselves do not. It’s not a huge problem but I like the visual representation of where my layers actually start and end. Is there any quick way to trim the precomp so that it only spans the total content of its internal layers? This means that the precomp timeline will be different from the main comp one, as time 0 in the precomp will correspond to some other time in the main comp, but sometimes this is actually how I prefer it.

Hope this makes sense… I appreciate any insights.
