  • Pre-Comps lose Transparency

CS6 on Windows 7. I have a comp with 20 or so layers of text/graphic over a background. While trying to clean up my comp, I pre-comped the text/graphic layers, and it lost its transparency and the background is now black. If I turn on “Collapse Transformations” it comes back, but this seems like more of a bug than a “feature”. Can anyone else confirm they are having this issue? Is this a bug? I just don’t see why it would change after all these years. Thanks!

Yeah, there is no black solid. If I take a comp that has transparency and add it as a layer to my main comp, everything works normal, but when working within this comp, and I pre-comp existing layers, it loses the transparency. Very strange.

It seems that you have one of the Graphic Layer with a Blending mode say ADD or MULTIPLY. Am I right? If it is so, then the behavior is expected.

Yes, I do have transfer modes set to add. I can’t believe I have never ran into this before. Is it new? Either way, if its expected than that explains it. Thanks!
