Pre-comped 3D composite misalignment
Posted by Brad Magnus on October 22, 2014 at 3:47 amIn my main comp seen on the left, the composite image of the screen doesn’t line up. But on the right inside the Pre-comp with the camera and screen and everything the screen is right in place just like it’s supposed to be. I’m not sure even what to ask because it’s kinda bizarre.
What about the precomp is making the misalignment?

October 22, 2014 at 9:29 amIf you are using the Collapse Transformations switch on the 3d-Model-Pre comp layer in the Main comp, but if the camera in Main doesn’t match the camera in 3d-Model-Pre, then your alignment will be off.

October 22, 2014 at 5:20 pmNo collapse transformation on in the main comp or any camera. Thanks though, you made me check to make sure 🙂 Any other suggestions?

October 22, 2014 at 5:25 pmThanks! Ya I’ve seen this before, great script. That’s not what’s going on here though. I have no interaction with the precomped C4D render and the main composition. I only put the pre-render into a precomp so that I would have all the assets and screens in one organized place. Out in the main comp I’m just doing 2D animation of text & icons. That’s why this is so confusing. I can’t think of any reason why it’s misaligned in the main comp when it’s fine in the precomp…

October 23, 2014 at 1:37 amGood thought, but nope. I may just have to pre-render the entire comp.
