  • PPro not outputing HD through Intensity Pro, works fine with SD

    System Setup
    Mac Pro 3,1 OX 10.8.4
    BMD Desktop Video 9.7.5
    Premiere Pro CC
    BMD Intensity Pro

    Issue
I’m trying to get an HD timeline to output to my SD monitor via S-Video. When I’m playing my HD sequence, neither the video nor audio outputs from the Intensity Pro; audio outputs through the line-output instead. When I drop the same content into an SD sequence, both the audio and video output through the Intensity Pro just fine.

In Desktop Video the “Select Output Processing” option has been set to “HD to SD Letterbox” and “HD to SD Anamorphic,” and neither setting worked.

Why am I unable to get both the audio and video to output through the Intensity Pro when the sequence is of HD resolution(720p24)? I guess it would make sense if just the video was giving me problems, but I don’t see why the audio would fail to output on the HD sequence, but not the SD.

I never had a problem doing this with FCP, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chances are your SD monitor is unable to handle a 24p signal. See if a 29.97 HD sequence plays through it.

My monitor can handle a 24p signal. And I still see no change when I try to output a 720p30 signal. Also, even if that were the problem, I don’t see why the audio would seize to output from the HD sequence…

Sorry, my bad — you said it was an SD monitor and you were feeding it S-Video. I assumed it was a 29.97-only analog monitor.

The only other thing I can suggest is to doublecheck the Intensity’s Output Processing Preferences.

Change the Default resolution in the Blackmagic control panel to 720. Start a 720 60 frame sequence and see if it will output via HDMI to a standard LCD. Make sure you turn the output processing to off.
