I recently installed PPro CS4 on a duo core machine. Everything seems to run fine “except” I have this weird audio problem. IF I play the timeline back through my fire wire connection to a Sony dsr 20, it plays back just fine. If I change the setting to play back the audio through the computer speakers, the time line does not play. Am I missing a setting. ALso when I hook up my sony deck the computer keeps looking for a AV/C tuner driver and I don’t know where to get one of these. When capturing the audio plays through the computer speakers and the monitor. Does the AV/C tuner have something to do with this? Capture works fine.

Have you set your audio device properly?

    Eddie,

Yep, the audio settings are correct. When I set things to export via firewire everything works. When I set things to work entirely off of the desk top the timeline and the source monitor will not work. I hit play and nothing happens, it just sits there. Could this have something to do with my computer looking for an AV/C Tuner driver?

I don’t think so, but let’s not rule that out completely. Go to the manufacturer’s Web site and look for the driver there. They really should have one available for download.

One other consideration, what are your ASIO settings?

    Cheers

    Eddie,

The ASIO settings are set to use the onboard auio (SOUNDMAX drivers) When I capture, the sound comes through the desktop speakers. I can batch capture too. If I disconnect the deck from the firewire and use only Adobe WDM and NONE for external device, the video still won’t play.

[Michael Mohr] “If I disconnect the deck from the firewire and use only Adobe WDM”

Are you saying that if you disconnect the deck you no longer have an ASIO option?

    Cheers
    Eddie
