My system is a homebuilt WIN7 machine.
    i7 4GHz
    SSD 250GB
    HDD 3 TB
    16 GB RAM

I use most all Adobe PC stuff now.
SSD has OS, Apps (including Adobe CC stuff).
    HDD is empty.

I’d like to setup premiere pro cc for speed.
Any better alternatives to having the raw video on the HDD
and the (I think this is correct) Media and Scratch stuff on SSD?

    Thanks for your help,

    TH

Never use your boot drive for storage, or for a scratch disk. If you really want to keep the scratch separate from the media, you’ll want to get an external drive.

I would suggest that you get external drives, or a RAID array, to store your media on. Then, a dedicated drive (maybe your internal HDD) for the project and scratch.

Of course, a regular backup schedule will require that you get more drives than this.

Thanks Blaise I really appreciate that feedback.

I’m on a budget and have to make due for now so would you say the
best I can do with my setup to

    1. put my original media (raw video) on my
internal HDD (2nd Hard-drive, D Drive). Is this my scratch disk also?
Sorry, haven’t used PPRO in many years.

    2. On my boot drive, which is my C drive (SSD) have
    the Media Cache files also?

I would think this would be better than using an external hard-drive
    no?

    Thanks again!
