I’ve tried editing a trailer using CC 2014 and experienced nothing but crashes and problems. Updated to the latest BMD driver as well. Even went to software-only mode; no luck. Just way too funky right now; have XML’ed my timelines back to regular CC and am continuing work there. Hopefully, the update, whenever it posts, will solve my problems.

3.4 ghz Intel Core i7 iMac 12 gb RAM (yes, I know I need more, but CC works fine anyway), AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB

    OS X 10.8.5

    David,

Just to share my experience….(almost identical machine…only difference is mine has 16gb ram and the 6970m 1024mb)

I upgraded to cc2014 on this machine and have had little to no issues, other than the fact that syncing via the “auto” sync is broken.

I also run cc2014 on two MacBook pros i7’s and a win7 6-core PC that I built. It has been a smooth experience thus far.

What type of footage are you working with? What drives do you use for media/edit?

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for your response. Just dealing with ProRes 1920×1080 footage on a LaCie Thunderbolt RAID.

Perhaps my specific issues are related to the Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D device I use that is on its own Thunderbolt port. But I did just upgrade the driver for it…

Hmmm…..I also use 1920×1080 prores on Lacie thunderbolts, as well as GRaid thunderbolts. I am willing to bet you are right with the BMD. That is literally the only difference between our set ups it seems.

Hope ya get it sorted out 🙂

    Cheers,

    Eric

Thanks again. I also own an AJA T-TAP for external monitoring, so I’ll try to swap that out with the Ultrastudio, update the AJA driver, and see if there’s any difference…
