On a PC here with CS6.

I am playing around with the whole Dynamic Link thing between PP and AE.

With a AJA Kona, switching between the two apps is less than smooth or seamless. It seems that AE does not want to give up control once it has it. I have to go into prefs and force the issue.

Going the other direction works as one would want. PP to AE – AE picks up the video out just fine.

Is this “normal”? Am I missing something?

    Thanks,

    Jef

For me this is normal behavior but does not have anything to do with Dynamic linking. I use an IOxt and PrPro will control the AJA control panel unless I quit the app, then it will recognize AE. It used to work seamless but broke somewhere along the way. I am not sure if it is an AJA driver issue or an Adobe issue.

You are correct it is not really a Dynamic Link problem. But it does make Dynamic Link a lot less useful if you are always fighting the Kona card.
