powerpoint to video for editing on FCP and later convert to flv
What is the best way to convert powerpoint slides to video to be edited in FCP? I will need to have high quality graphics. I will convert it later to flv. Thanks.

Personally, I take it into Keynote. You have to watch out for changes that Keynote might introduce if it doesn’t have the fonts or effects used in PowerPoint. Sometimes you will see text boxes that have cropped some of the text off the bottom and you’ll need to extend the boundary of the box to see the text.
From Keynote, you can export TIFFs or QuickTime movies. The reason I use Keynote is that, as of the recent past anyway, it makes better anti-aliased fonts on exported TIFFs than PowerPoint on a PC. It’s possible that PPT on the Mac will also handle fonts better and for that matter PPT on a PC may have caught up by now.
With a square pixel format, such as HD, you can set up your show to match the size and aspect. In SD formats, if exporting stills, you might want to resize them in Photoshop to be the correct aspect in FCP. In NTSC land I export 720×540 and then resize to 720×480 for SD projects.

Or if you don’t have Keynote, save the PPT presentation to a new folder as JPGs and that will yield you and image sequence you can import to FCP. You’ll lose animations, etc.
