I am looking at getting a little connector made to go from the d-tap connecter on a v-lock battery mounting plate to my Blackmagic Design mini converter (SDI-HDMI). All the V-lock batts are 14.8v, the mini converter is 12v.

Will the difference in voltage blow up my mini converter?

Unfortunately Mini Converter SDI to HDMI cannot accept a 14.8V input. There are many third party D-Tap regulated connectors available. A Google search should find these for you.

We ran a bunch of them off 12v 4ah Gel Cells in the field – in particular the optical to SDI convertors. They ran for a full 8 hours without recharge. Might be a suitable option?
