Powergrades in all databases?
Posted by Laco Gaal on February 7, 2012 at 7:17 amis it possible, to see the saved powergrades in all databases?
For example if I create a “vignette” preset, how can I see it in all of my databases?

You’ll have to export what you want from the Powergrade or Still tab and then re-import into your new database..Export as DPX into a folder, you’ll notice another file that turns up there with an extension something .drx, This is the grading data for the still or powergrade.
If that .drx travels with the still image, the grade will come along with the imported still..
You can do that between systems, for example send a grade and the still to another facility..
Of course, with in the same database you can copy back and forth between users in the gallery page.

I’ve went to “Export”, and then I saw the dpx extension, so I thought it will simply save the frame, but not the grade.
Silly me!:) I should have gone further. Thanks Charlie

April 6, 2012 at 10:30 pmHi Guys,

April 6, 2012 at 10:37 pmYour os associates DPX files with apple color. It is an OS setting not to do with the davinci. If you don’t have Color installed it won’t do that.
You can change association by pressing cmd-i while you have a dpx file selected in finder.
Then where it says “open with” change it to your app of choice. Then click change all.

April 6, 2012 at 10:52 pmno the grade info doesn’t carry. if you’ve rendered out the shot the grade should be burned in. if you’re sending to another resolve station. copy your source media and export a project file. hopefully the operator on the other end knows what he is doing.

October 16, 2013 at 7:57 pmI’ve sent a still (dpx and drx files) over to a friend also using resolve, they’ve imported the still and its applied the grade I have used, but for some reason is not applying the LUT I have used.
It should auto select the LUT I have used at my end shouldnt it as well as applying the grading info? He also has the same LUT at his end and its named the same.
Many Thanks
