Power window/layer/ Question

December 29, 2021 at 3:01 pmHoping someone can give me some guidance regarding attached images. The camera was tripod mounted and doesn’t move. I created a power window around the mirror in order to tweak exposure. The foreground actress repeatedly moves the dress in and out of my power window giving it away. How do I keep the dress separate from the power window?

December 30, 2021 at 11:02 amYou need to apply a mask to the objects that pass in front of the mirror mask and track them so that the mirror mask is behind the foreground action. It might be easier to find an online tutorial that explains how to set that up.

December 30, 2021 at 3:39 pmHi Michael! Yeah, I figured I’d need to track the dress but then how do I place the dress behind the mirror? Is that a node layer thing or simply placing the node in the correct order or ?? I will take your suggestion and look for a tutorial somewhere. Thanks!

December 31, 2021 at 12:11 amIt can all be done within the node structure. A cheats way is to duplicate the clip to a layer above and apply an alpha output from the mask you put on the objects in front of the mirror. This might help you to visualise the process then apply that to layering within the nodes rather than actual layers on the timeline, whatever works for you.
