  • Post effects ideas to stylize your 3D animations?

Not necessarily a C4D question (even though I am referencing any way to treat my recently rendered C4D animations) but would anyone have some techniques they use to add style, realism, flash, mood to their 3D animations in post?

For example, I’ll take a copy of the file and put it over the original (in After Effects), take down the opacity a bit, add a slight blur and hike up the levels a touch – this adds a soft focus/glow to the image but it’s getting old….any more creative ideas?

    Thanks!

Personally I have been trying to get the depth of field to be my friend…. its not going that great but in addition to some grain and softening as you mentioned I think its the right direction for me.

I have also been forced as of late to make sketch and toon renders…. that can go along way to getting new looks.
