We shoot a lot of material with the JVC camera in 24p/23.98 and acquire using a HDMI to HD-SDI converter to capture the footage into final cut. The only problem I have is that I hate having to capture nearly three times the amount of frames, then having to use compressor to re-encode everything. Big pain. Does anyone have a non-HDV workflow that allows you to capture JVC 720 footage either at 24/23.98p or 29.97p? thanks

Ok, I figured it out… need to select the 1280×720 VFR instead of 1280×720 59.94 and just select the desired frame rate. Hooray!
