I’ve recently come into posession of a new editing system, and I’ve noticed a wierd bug with it. Anytime my Sony DVW-A500 deck is disengaged–a time when it should be displaying a black screen–I get a strange flashing glitch that reminds me of something that is out of sync.

    Here’s a screen shot: https://www.zwaloo.com/images/wierd%20bug.jpg

Obviously that’s the only way I could capture the bug, but I can assure you it’s doing that on my two monitors as well.

Those white lines flash constantly. None of my coworkers have this issue. The only thing we can come up with is that I have the what is now plain-vanilla DeckLink card and they have the older version without digital audio out.

I’m happy to provide any information ya’ll need to help me figure out how to stop this. Check my profile for system specs.

looks like standard feedback. Your VTR is in E-E, while your co workers systems are in PB/EE . This should not affect anything. If it drives you crazy, take the VTR out of SDI input and switch it to composite or YRB until you are ready to recordback to your DVW-500, or switch to PB/EE
