    I’m trying to get some walk-on videos for websites made for several clients. Some times called popVideos (where the talent appears on top of the website with transparent background). If you do this, how-to? I have a couple of programs that say they do this but it’s just not working.

    I can key out the green-screen in Vegas (and other programs) but some programs request a Flash file with transparent background.

    Help? Yes? Maybe?

    Flash is the only way this works, along with a flash player that will let you set the ‘wmode=transparent’ flag.

    you’ll need to export a 32bit file (alpha channel) from Vegas. It can then be imported to Flash with the transparency channel.
    https://www.bobdiamondrealestate.com/v2/pages/events.html offers an example of a really fast Vegas export.

    I’m running Vegas 10 64bit. Douglas, the sample is what I’m looking to supply to the web designer. They are asking for this in HTML code. There must be an easy way. I know I have the tools to do this. just not the knowledge.

    K.
    To to this;
    Shoot on green (or other color if you must)
    put down a 50% grey background beneath the green content.
    Key out the green.
    The Grey will give you a very clear understanding of what exactly is being keyed. There are dozens of VASST tutorials on keying on our website.
    Next, turn off/mute the grey background track.
    Now…Render the file as an uncompressed, 32 bit avi file with alpha channel. This is what you’ll import to Flash for 32bit Flash export to the Flash file. It’s actually quite easy once you open in Flash; you’ll see how it’s done once you have the 32 bit avi file to import.
