    So I have a bunch of pans, that come out looking very ‘stagey’, the pans are not smooth, like the tripod was grabbing as the camera man panned.

    Im nervous the footage might be unusable.

    FCP Tracker seems to do a decent job, but not quite, so not good enough…

    If After Effects built-in warp stabalizer doesn’t do the job, I like using a plugin by ProDad called Mercalli. What’s nice is that it will, at the expense of zooming into the frame, also smooth the speed and momentum of pan shots.

    In the first video in the video2brain list here, I show how to smooth out a very jerky pan with the Warp Stabilizer.
