  poor video capture Win 7 64 bit

  I have been using Vegas since it was sonic foundry…but I am having a problem I cannot seem to resolve…I have recently upgraded my system…Win 7 pro 64 bit, Quad core 2, 8gb ram…when I attempt to capture from my Sony HDR_FX1 via firewire HD 1440×1080, I get very poor video. It is choppy and falls apart, dropping frames and pixelating…I take the same camera with the same footage and move it to my older machine…Win XP sp2 32 bit, 3.6mhz dual core, 2gb ram…via firewire and it captures flawlessly…may I beg upon your genius to offer a resolve? Thank you
