[Rafael Amador] “HD distribution is not fallowing the path”

We just completed a 2 minute nation spot for a dog heath product and no one will take an HD package. Of course “no one” doesn’t mean everyone but it does include some major distribution networks. Digibeta yes, HDCAM No.

[Tom Daigon] “Someone said they dropped the HD_SDI for HDMI. If they got rid of HD-SDI…MAJOR bummer. By hooking this cam up to a Nanoflash or AJA Ki Pro suddenly you are sending an uncompressed 4:2:2 signal to either device.”

Either device you mentioned takes an HDMI input. Bummer averted.

yes but HDMI doesnt carry timecode info like HDSDI does.

  • Michael Palmer

    October 19, 2009 at 2:10 pm

If you ever need more than one EX1r on a shoot and want matching timecode then currently you would need to try and set (at the same instance) the clocks to the exact same time, other wise you need the EX3. However if you have 2 Nano’s on each of these EX1r’s I believe the Nano can be given timecode from an external device like the lockit box so SDI really isn’t a problem to lose.

    Good Luck

The new EX-1r still have the SDI out as EX-1/3.

I like the flip image in case I’m using a lens adaptor. That’ll save me $500 by itself.

The overcrank/undercrank button is a nice bonus since you have to fumble in the menu to set this currently.

They also added an extra shoe mount which is a nice bonus.

The tripod mount on the bottom has been redesigned. I’ve heard others in this forum that have had their plate crack or rip open.

    The handle is more centered.

Zoom eases in and out if set this way.
