PMW 200 HDMI Out to Field Monitor Issue
Chris Gomersall
August 30, 2017 at 9:14 pmAttached a VX7i Field Monitor to my PMW 200 with an HDMI cable and I get nothing. I have set in the menu to output video to the HDMI port yet I get nothing. The HDMI is routed to Video IN on the field monitor and source is set to HDMI port. Might be the HDMI cable but thought I would ask here in case I’m overlooking something goofy. I inherited this camera at my new gig and the online manual is less than detailed in this regard.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Chris GKind regards,

August 31, 2017 at 1:35 pmHi,
I use a D7W monitor, not quite the same as yours.
Usually I connect using the SDI connection but I tried the HDMI connection and it works just fine.
Your monitor will have an input button, probably, and so you have to select between an SDI or HDMI source. You could have he wrong source setting. On the PWW 200 the default setting on the Video menu: SDI/HDMI/
i.LINK I/O Select Selecting input/output signals for the connectors
should beHD SDI & HD HDMI
That is the default when you are using UDF HD mode. Unless you are using SD mode it is difficult to turn the HDMI off [but you can do it if you try].
Good luck

August 31, 2017 at 3:38 pmBill Griffin, a local cameraman, called me directly and suggested the same thing. The iLink was turned off but he also wisely suggested a system reset. THAT worked! Field monitor is pulling a great signal from the PMW 200 now. Thanks, Bill!
