Plural Eyes>>Premiere Pro>>OMF workflow remedy needed
I am stymied. I have run into this problem on the last project and current project I’m on. It’s frustrating and I’ve been reading tutorials and forums and adobe help and red giant help for the past several weeks and have resigned that I can’t find it so I thought I’d ask for help.
My workflow is as follows:
a) Import footage .mov files and .wav files into PluralEyes
b) Export and then Import into Premiere
c) Edit
d) Export OMF file to send to sound mixer for Pro Tools import. However, every time on the export to OMF it balks. Just hangs.
So in my trouble shooting I’ve found the following:
a) when I import into Premiere it takes the stereo wave files and converts it to 2 mono channels.
b) If I import the sound file on it’s own without PluralEyes it imports as a stereo file on one track
c) The Export to OMF doesn’t balk when I have b) in place. So my conclusion was to figure out a way to get the import to Premiere to maintain the stereo file or change it once it is in.
I can’t remap the audio because if it’s in a timeline it won’t let me.
Setting the source channel mapping in preferences doesn’t seem to matter. No matter what I put it on it makes it to mono channels. Can anyone please offer some help?
Thanks.
Michael
